...thrilling bouquet struck through with mineral-rich red berry fruit that teasingly takes time to unfurl in the glass; you can sense the limestone, and hints of graphite emerge later. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, quite piquant in style, leading to an edgy, slightly chalky finish that bristles with energy.
...superb wine. The bouquet is already beautifully expressive, offering up scents of black cherries, sweet dark berries, grilled meats, chocolate, a superbly complex base of soil tones and a lovely framing of new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, long and nicely structured out of the blocks, with ripe tannins, fine focus and grip and a long, complex and seamlessly balanced finish... Fine, fine juice.
Firm and savoury on the nose with some real polish. Very rich... Real freshness and delight. Complete. Long with a peacock’s tail.
