RATINGS

98+ The Wine Advocate

Very deep purple-black, the 2018 Mourvèdre leaps from the glass with vibrant notes of wild blueberries, crushed black cherries and mulberries with touches of roses, tar and cigars plus a hint of cardamom. The beautifully crafted, tightly knit, full-bodied palate has a firm, fine-grained texture and lively backbone, finishing long and savory.

95-97+ Jeb Dunnuck

...blue fruit character...beautiful pepper and floral notes, this beauty hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a complex, gamey, almost Old World style, notable acidity and tannins, and a great finish.

PRODUCER

Andremily

Andremily Winery is a new venture by Jim Binn, a former cellar master at Sine Qua Non. Binn established his Santa Barbara area winery in 2011 and named it for his two children, Andrew and Emily. Binn leases specific acreage within the prestigious White Hawk and Larner Vineyards in Santa Barbara County, and had his first harvest in 2012. Only 250 cases of Syrah were made and it was available primarily through mailing list. Binn focuses on Rhone varietals and has earned a reputation for his winemaking skills, having honed his skills working for Manfred Krankl, the rock star-style proprietor/winemaker at SQN, starting in 1996.

TYPE

Red Wine, Mourvèdre

Fans of Cabernet Sauvignon appreciate Mourvèdre. It’s a full-bodied Spanish native. It is grown prominently in Bandol, France, Paso Robles, CA and many other regions. It is often blended with Grenache and Syrah and can be used to make rosé and port-style wines.
