2018 SoCo Barrel Auction Mauritson The Patriarch

SoCo Barrel Auction is an annual event organized by the Sonoma County Vintner to promote wines from Sonoma County. The live auction is held each spring and it offers futures on barrels of Sonoma County cuveés made specially for the auction. The auction is open only to members of the trade.

This is a parent grape to Cabernet Sauvignon. It most likely originates from Basque country. It is an excellent blending grape, known for making the exquisite Cheval-Blanc. Franc is a little hardier on a vine than Sauvignon, but drinks smoothly at the table.
