Estimate
Opaque bluish purple, and the wine has an exquisite nose of spring flowers, blueberries, black raspberries, graphite and forest floor. Stunningly rich and built like a skyscraper, but without any sense of heaviness,
Licorice and blackberries as well as dark mushrooms on the nose. Full-bodied, dense and chewy with a very pretty fruit/acid balance. Needs two or three years to soften.
Makes a persuasive case for size and success, as this is a rich, full-blown effort, with tiers of dark berry, mocha and licorice flavors, framed by cedary oak and finishing with a long, nuanced aftertaste that keeps revealing extra facets.
Exudes richness and intensity, and yet there is good aromatic lift as well. It will be interesting to see how things develop here. Layers of inky fruit build into the powerful finish.
