RATINGS

94The Wine Advocate

Displays a pure and mineral bouquet of crushed stones and white-peach aromas. Intense and fruity on the palate, with good concentration and densely woven texture, this is a piquant and spicy flavored Riesling

94Vinous / IWC

Notes of heliotrope and freesia on the nose translate into seductive inner-mouth perfume that accompanies succulent ripe white peach and honeydew melon on a glossy, polished palate. An infusion of cooling basil and mint as well

90Wine Spectator

An added touch of exotic tropical fruit signals this ripe yet well-structured white, with apricot, papaya and banana flavors underscored by floral and mineral accents.

PRODUCER

Prager

Prager is in Austria’s Wachau valley. It is owned and operated by Ilse and Toni Bodenstein. Ilse inherited the estate from her father and she and her husband produce Riesling and Gruner Veltliner. Robert M. Parker Jr. has been awarded the wines scores in the 90s and notes that Toni Bodenstein has taken the winery “to the outer limits of complexity achievable in dry Riesling.”

TYPE

White Wine, Riesling, Smaragd

This white variety originated in Germany. It’s known for its strong flowery aromas and high acidity. Please note Rieslings can have dramatic differences as the grape can be used to make dry, semi-sweet, sweet and sparkling wines.
