Wow—it delivers a super-intense nose of crushed black currant and dried herbs with hints of coffee beans, charcuterie, black olives and Marmite toast. The palate is full, rich, firm and chewy with a compelling herbal lift to the long finish.
Intense savory notes, mint, cedar, iron and white pepper, along with firm mountain tannins, give the wine its distinctive personality. Most of the Alpha Omega wines are rich and luscious. The Cordes adds to that energy, tension and drive, all of which complete the wine very nicely.
Thick and flinty in iron, this is a wine of Old World elegance... Tea, clove and dried herb season black licorice and blackberry, the wine tannic and generous in toasted oak.
Plums, blackberries, melted licorice, sage, and roasted herb notes all emerge from this rich, concentrated effort...
