RATINGS

97-99The Wine Advocate

...the nose opens slowly to loamy earth, dried lavender, mint leaves and a pure, concentrated core of cassis and baked blueberries. The palate is bursting with layer after layer of perfumed fruit. It has a fine, silky texture, alluring meaty accents, bursts of fresh acidity highlighting its perfume and a very long, layered finish.

97-99Jeb Dunnuck

...one heck of an impressive Mourvèdre, offering textbook savory red, blue, and black fruits as well as herbes de Provence, dry-aged beef, pepper, and some spicy, floral nuance. Full-bodied and opulent on the palate...great tannins...

92-94Vinous / IWC

...offers up an intriguing mix of tobacco, gravel, incense, leather and spice.

PRODUCER

Andremily

Andremily Winery is a new venture by Jim Binn, a former cellar master at Sine Qua Non. Binn established his Santa Barbara area winery in 2011 and named it for his two children, Andrew and Emily. Binn leases specific acreage within the prestigious White Hawk and Larner Vineyards in Santa Barbara County, and had his first harvest in 2012. Only 250 cases of Syrah were made and it was available primarily through mailing list. Binn focuses on Rhone varietals and has earned a reputation for his winemaking skills, having honed his skills working for Manfred Krankl, the rock star-style proprietor/winemaker at SQN, starting in 1996.

Red Wine, Mourvèdre

Fans of Cabernet Sauvignon appreciate Mourvèdre. It’s a full-bodied Spanish native. It is grown prominently in Bandol, France, Paso Robles, CA and many other regions. It is often blended with Grenache and Syrah and can be used to make rosé and port-style wines.
