Kuentz-Bas

Kuentz-Bas is a 75-acre estate in Alsace. It was founded in 1795 by the Kuentz family, who later married into the Bas family, joining the two families into one winemaking enterprise. In 2004 the estate was sold to Jean-Baptiste Adam, a noted vigneron in the region. Adam has lowered yields and moved the estate into organic and biodynamic vineyard work. The estate makes about 12,000 cases of wine annually and is most famous for its Grand Cru Rieslings. It also makes Sylvaner, Muscat, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer and Cremant.
