RATINGS

92+ The Wine Advocate

Sweet dark cherries, plums, incense, graphite and spices caress the palate in this supple, juicy Burgundy.

92+ Stephen Tanzer

Lively and fine-grained, with a darker fruit character than the other Beaune wines here. Nicely sweet but essentially tight-knit, with complicating notes of spices, licorice, chocolate and minerals.

92Burghound.com

...good energy and tension to the classy, pure and refined middle weight flavors that display focused power on the serious and very ripe finish that delivers excellent length. This muscular yet very stylish effort...

90Wine Spectator

Supple, yet with firm tannins underlining the spicy raspberry and strawberry flavors. A mineral essence runs throughout. Long and satisfying.

REGION

France, Burgundy, Côte d'Or, Côte de Beaune, Beaune, Les Bas Des Teurons

Les Bas des Teurons is a 15.7-acre Premier Cru vineyard located in the central part the Beaune appellation, in Burgundy’s Cote de Beaune. Though Beaune has no Grand Cru vineyards, it has 44 vineyards that are either partly or completely Premier Cru. Clive Coates has written that in the central section of the Beaune appellation is “where you will find the finest examples of premier cru in Beaune.”

TYPE

Red Wine, Pinot Noir, 1er (Premier) Cru

This red wine is relatively light and can pair with a wide variety of foods. The grape prefers cooler climates and the wine is most often associated with Burgundy, Champagne and the U.S. west coast. Regional differences make it nearly as fickle as it is flexible.
