Château Cantenac-Brown

Château Cantenac Brown is a 104-acre estate in Cantenac, Margaux. It is a third growth estate according to the 1855 Bordeaux classification. It gets part of its name from John Lewis Brown, a Scottish businessman who acquired the estate in the early 19th century. The estate has changed hands numerous times since then and is today owned by Simon Halabi, an English businessman. Today the estate’s signature wine is the Château Cantenac Brown which is 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. Some 11,000 cases are made annually. The château has recently added two wines, which are Alto de Cantenac Brown, a white blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, and Brio de Cantenac Brown, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
