RATINGS

95The Wine Advocate

...simply an incredible wine, a massive nose of black plum, game and a touch of tar, the palate full-bodied with robust tannins...

17Jancis Robinson

Strongly peppery nose. Really tickles the nose. Soft round sweet and very slightly treacly on the palate but still with zest.

PRODUCER

Craggy Range

Craggy Range is located in Havelock North, New Zealand. It was founded in the late 1990s by businessman Terry Peabody, who had an international career in waste management and transportation before starting Craggy Range. The estate makes a large portfolio of wines from Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Chardonnay, to Syrah, Pinot Noir and Bordeaux-style blends.

TYPE

Red Wine, Syrah (Shiraz)

This grape is grown in milder climates and produces a medium-to full-bodied wine. It is also known as Shiraz, but should not be confused with Petit Sirah, which was developed by crossing Syrah with Peloursin.
